So, it's important that KYDS Youth Counselling counsellors have the skills needed to ensure that all those in the family system are connected with the support they need.

Why We’re Running as a Family

Friday 16th Jan

As a family, we are proud to call the Ku-ring-gai community home. It is the place where we live, work, raise our children, and build lasting relationships. Participating in the Lindfield Fun Run 5km together is a simple but meaningful way for us to give back to the community that gives so much to us.

For me (Grace) personally, community service is not just something I support from a distance. I am a committee member of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter and an active member of the Rotary Club of Ku-ring-gai. Through these roles, I see firsthand how critical local support is in strengthening safety nets, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that vulnerable members of our community are not left behind.

As a family, we have always tried to be intentional about contributing back—whether through volunteering, community events, or supporting local causes that make a tangible difference. Running together is also important to us because it shows our children that community contribution is something you do together, consistently, and with purpose.

By supporting our run, you are not just helping us cross a finish line—you are supporting the organisations and initiatives that work every day to make Ku-ring-gai a safer, stronger, and more compassionate place for everyone.
